South and Central Autism SIG

Professionals in south and central Texas whose mission it is to promote the awareness and utilization of evidence-based practice based on the science of Applied Behavior Analysis for the intervention of individuals with autism and related disorders. Membership is open to BCBAs/BCABAs, Autism Specialists, educators, family members of individuals with autism or related disorders, and others providing direct or indirect services to individuals with autism.

Mission Statements
- To educate professionals, educators, caregivers, and families on the importance of evidence-based practice in the treatment of individuals with autism.
- To increase awareness of the science of Applied Behavior Analysis and it’s application to autism intervention • To clarify misconceptions about Applied Behavior Analysis.
- To provide continued professional development for individuals practicing in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis and autism intervention.
- To provide training opportunities in Applied Behavior Analysis and its application in various settings including schools, home, and community.

Meetings
SIG meetings will be held on a quarterly basis. Meetings provide opportunities for:
- Networking
- Updates/Reminders about ABA events in the community
- Continuing Education: CEUs will soon be available for individual trainings provided during SIG meetings
- Literature reviews
